He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II, but the past few vears he foueht the fight of his life. With much dignity and grace, he passed away on July 26, 2005, surrounded by his loved ones. He gave 40 years of service to General Motors, retiring as a supervisor in 1986. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lorraine; daughters, Cathy and Judy; son, Bion (Nancy); grandchildren, Darcie, Todd, Elbert, Bobby, Jamie, Robin and Kelly; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Suzanne, Connie and Charlene (Lawrence); sisters-in-law, Eleanor and Rose Ellen; brothers-in-law, Edward (Dot), Roderick and Claude; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Fern and Stanley, and in-laws, Edward and Helen; sister, Kathleen; and brothers, Richard and Frederick. Visitation will be Friday, July 29, 2005 at 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Pray Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 30, 2005 at 11:00 a.m.

"Kitty DeWitt, Ml Age 80, passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2005. Kitty was born in Detroit on January 31, 1925, the daughter of James T.

and Catherine (Lamb) Carney. She was a great mother, excel lent writer and friend to many. She was preceded in death by her hus-bana, Wally, her son, Jerry and son-in-law, Charles Crissey. She leaves behind six children, Barbara Crissey of Perry (friend Jim Post), Tim (Laura) of Clinton Corners, NY, Nancy (Al Tate) of Yarmouth-port, MA, Noreen (fiance, Steve McNaughton) of East Lansing, Jeanne (Joe Jozefiak) of DeWitt, and Jackie (Doug) Dziadzio of Fenton; 12 grandchildren. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, July 30, 11:00 a.m.

at the Catholic Community of St Jude, 801 N. Bridge Street, DeWitt with the Rev. Dwight Ezop, Pastor, officiating. The Rite of Committal will follow in DeWitt Cemetery, DeWitt. The family will receive friends at the Gorsline-Runciman Co.

Dorthea Owosso, Ml Formerly of Lansing, Ml Mrs. A. Dorthea Batterbee went to be with her Lord Jesus and her husband on Sunday, July 24, 2005 at 10:45 p.m. at Ingham Regional Medical Center. Mrs.

Batterbee mothered five children, Mrs. Dawn M. Miller of Lansing, Rev. Clifford G. Batterbee of Mancelona, Mrs.

Wanda S. Mapes of Owosso, Mr. James S. Batterbee of Ovid and Mrs. Joyce A.

Fox of Carlyle, IL She is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Willard Batterbee and two grandchildren, Larry LaMotte of Florida and Cleatus J. Batterbee of Michigan. Since Mrs. Batterbee had elected to donate her body to the University of Michigan, a memorial service will be held Friday, July 29 at 11 a.m.

Vondrasek, Gary Lee Lansing, Ml Gary Lee Vondrasek, age 52, died Saturday, July 16, 2005 at Sparrow Health Systems, Lansing. Gary was born on July 19, 1952 in Traverse City to William J. and Barbara J.

(Sniff) Vondrasek. He is survived by his parents, William and Barbara Vondrasek of Bath; 3 brothers, Vaughn of Laingsburg, William Jr. of Kingsport, TN and Kent of Lansing; and a niece and nephew, Nichol (Robert) Orr and Chad (Oksana) Vondrasek. Ethelyn was born July 23, 1918 in Fowler, MI, the daughter of Isaac and Alta (Cook) Wood. She graduated from Maple Rapids High School On May 16, 1944 she married Leonard Fedewa at St. Paul Church in Owosso. Mrs. Fedewa was a member of St Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include her children, James (Sally) Fedewa, of Swartz Creek, Carol (Gary) Talbot, of Traverse City, Tom (Barb) Fedewa, of North Muskegon, and Jerry (Janice Jo) Fedewa, of East Lansing; 13 grandchildren, Jeff Wilson, of Macomb, Mark (Jann) Wilson, of Waterford, Jamie Hale, Las Vegas, Steve Fedewa, of Lori (Peter) Brodhead, of Grenich, CT, Tracy and Lisa Talbot of Traverse City, Brian (Natalie) Fedewa, of Muskegon, Scott Fedewa, of Charleston, SC, Will, David, Michael, and Greg Fedewa, of East Lansing; 7 great-grandchildren, Kyle and Alex Wilson, Marissa and Ryan Wilson, and William and Charlotte Brodhead, and Anna Fedewa; 2 sisters, Kathleen Bill Scriver, of Muskegon and Lucy McClellan, of Lansing; and many nieces and nephews. Owosso, Ml Age 77, formerly of the Haslett Bath area passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2005 at her residence. A celebration of her life will be held 3 p.m., Saturday, Jury 30, 2005 at Community Christian Church, with Tyler M. Barlage officiating. The church is located at 400 E. State St (M-21) St Johns, Michigan.

Margaret was orn April 22, 1928 in Harbor Springs, Michigan, the daughter of Peter and Myrtle (Allen) Barrow. She was raised in the Shingleton Munising area and moved to Lansing in 1965. She married Edward Harbenski in September of 1944, he died in 1965. She then married Robert Nelson in November of 1967, he died in 1985. For the last 10 years Margaret was devoted to the Foster Grandparent Program of Lansing where she found great joy being around young children.

Left to mourn her passmg are daughters, Angie Mitosinka, of Owosso, Barbara (Joe) Niemi, of Owosso, Margaret (Steve) Hunt, of Middle-ton; sons, James Harbenski Sr, of Portland and Daniel (Laura) Harbenski, of Maple Rapids; 16 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Peter (Eve) Barrow and James (Charlotte) Barrow, of the Shingleton area; special friends, Ruth and Howard Cole; along with many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands, Edward and Robert; sons, Edward Harbenski Jr. and Timothy Harbenski; parents; 3 brothers; sister. He attended Case Western University until entering the U.S. Navy during WWIL He was a member of Congregation Shaarey Zedek and the Lansing Lions Club. Mr.

Lindner volunteered at the Ingham County Court Watch, Literacy Volunteers of America, Mason School District and the Mason Historical Society, as well as being on the board of directors for the Okemos Senior Center. He enjoyed quiet time at home with his wife, and spending time with his children ana grandchildren. He loved gardening, long walks and fitness activities, including bowling, golf and working out at the YMCA. Since retirement, traveling was important to him, especially to places with mountains or a beach. He kept his mind active by playing games of challenge, reading and keeping up with current events.

Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Ethel; 3 children, Susan Tons, Robert (Loree) Lindner and Kurt (Jennifer) Lindner; 6 grandchildren, Allison, Marissa, Jared, Craig, Caleb and Jean; sister, Phyllis Brown. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2005 at Congregation Shaarey Zedek, 1924 Coolidge RcL, East Lansing, with Rabbi Richard Baroff officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Congregation Shaarey Zedek or to the American Heart Association in memory of Bob Lindner. She graduated from Waverly High School in 1970. She attended Lansing Community College. In 1975, she married Charles T. Schwatka. To this union was born Charles (Chaz) T.

Schwatka IV. They moved to Minnesota in 1982. She received her degree in Sales Marketing Managementfashion option in 1987 from Albert Lea, MN Vo-Tech. Robert "Bob" Todd and Kaye were married on April 8, 1989 at Oakland Lutheran Church. They moved to Austin in 1984, where Kaye worked at the Chamber of Commerce, Parenting Resource, and Faith Evangelical Free Church as Director of Children's Ministry.

She was a lovely, multi-talented woman. Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Todd, Austin, MN; her son, Charles (Chaz) T. Schwatka IV (Katrina); one grandson, Mikey Davis, and she was expecting her first granddaughter in August; her mother, Joan (Swift) Kriek; two brothers, Jeff Kriek of Lansing, Scott (Kimberly) Kriek of Bath; two sisters, Andrea (Don) Flitton of Lansing, and Kerry Chapin of Portland; mother-in- law, Violet Todd of Oakland MN; sister-in-law, Delores (Jerry) Schewe; and a host of relatives and friends. Mr. Gross was a member of the United States Marine Corps for 4 years, serving two terms Vietnam. Edward was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church mi was retired from TRW. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Tony Gross; fatner-in-law, Roy Goerge; and brother-in-law, Carl Koenig-sknecht.
