Age 81, passed away at his home, December 29, 2009. Joe was born in Grand Rapids on April 20, 1928, the son of Joseph and Anna (Stepanski) Frederick. Joe graduated from Michigan State University where he earned a masters degree in social work. He retired from Ingham Intermediate School District after 20 years of service.

Joe was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He was a very devout Catholic that served his church as a former Grand Knight, active the building program, and was a committee member with the playground of dreams. Joe was a volunteer with the Dimondale Center and Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed baking bread, vegetable gardening and building.

His true loves were that of his family and grandchildren. Joe is survived by his wife, Colette C. (Weber) Frederick of Eaton Rapids; children, Paul (Barbara) Frederick of South Haven, John (Marcia) Frederick of Rockford, Mary (Derek) Schraft of Eaton Rapids, Jim Frederick of Eaton Rapids; grandchildren, Anna and Shelby Frederick of South Haven, David, Daniel and Darren Frederick of Rockford, Nathan Schraft of Portland, Rachel and Kevin Schraft of Eaton Rapids; numerous nieces and nephews and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Sister Dorothy Marie, Sister Agnes of Jesus and Father Edwin Frederick. Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, January 2, 2010 at St.

Peter Catholic Church, 515 E. Knight St. Eaton Rapids with Father Gerard Weber and Father Bennett Constantine officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 2-4pm and 6-8 1 pm at the church with a rosary at 7pm. Interment will be at Rosehill Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may made to St. Vincent DePaul or the City Rescue Mission. Arrangements were entrusted to the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main St. Eaton Rapids.

For 60 years she gave service and support as a Charter Partner in Ingham County Salon of the 8 et 40. A member of Trinity Church, and a visitor to the University United Methodist Church, she was a beloved and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was born October 6, 1918, in Waverly, Iowa to Arthur and Barbara (Tiggeman) Stewart and married Sam D. Jones in Duluth on September 5, 1942, he preceded her in death in 1968.

She owned LaRainne's Studio of Dance in Fowlerville for 25 years, taught at of and was a member of National and local dance councils. Surviving are 2 daughters: Sandra Boyd of Okemos and Sheri (Duane) Starkey of Fowlerville; 5 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Darlene Page of Iowa. Services 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010, at Niblack Funeral Home, Dillingham Liverance Chapel, where visitation will be held from 11:30 until service time Sa- Fern Georgia (Satterlund) Wright East Lansing Fern Georgia (Satterlund) Wright, 88, died November 20, 2009. She was born July 19, 1921 in rural New Richmond, WI, the daughter of N.

George and Ruth (Carlson) Satterlund; all four grandparents had emigrated from the Swedish province of Vaermland in the late 1800s. Mrs. Wright was predeceased by her brother, Harold Satterlund, and his wife, Jean. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert L. Wright; daughter, Rochelle "Shelley" Wright, and her husband, Goeran Sandberg of Stockholm, Sweden and Urbana, IL; grandson, Erik A.

Wright of Minneapolis, MN; brother-in-law, William T. Wright, and his wife, Barbara of Huber Heights, OH; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Mrs. Wright was educated at River Falls State Teachers College (now the University, of Falls), the University of Minnesota, and Michigan State University. She taught elementary school in Wisconsin and Minnesota andworked briefly in Chicago, where she met her future husband, then a Navy midshipman.

In 1944-45, while his ship operated in the Pacific, she relocated to San Diego, where she was responsible for staffing more than twenty daycare centers created for families of men and women in the armed services. In 1948 she and her husband moved from St. Paul, MN to East Lansing, which became their permanent home, though the family also lived in New York City, Newcastle, DE, and for two separate years, in Stockholm, Sweden. Mrs. Wright worked for 23 years in the office of the Michigan 'Attorney General, retiring in 1987 as Senior Complaints Examiner and Departmental Supervisor of the Consumer Protection Division.

Mrs. Wright enjoyed reading, musical and theatrical performances, and travel, activities she was forced to give up when her health began to fail. Her family is grateful to Burcham Hills Retirement Community for the loving care she received there, and to Sparrow Hospice Services, which made her last days peaceful and without pain. Mrs. Wright donated her body to the Anatomy Department at MSU.

There will be no services. Contributions in her memory may be made to Sparrow Hospice Services or to the East Lansing Public Library. Margaret Sonaglia Lansing Age 93, passed away on December 29, 2009. Born December 21, 1916 in Lansing to Immigrant parents, George and Catherine Kazanowsky. Margaret retired as a food service employee at Otto Middle School in Lansing.

She was a life long resident on North Lansing. was very kind generous to her grandchildren. She enjoyed Crocheting and made many shawls and blankets. She was charter member of St. Therese Parish, and helped or volunteered her time for numerous funeral dinners at church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; son, Gerard; sisters, Anna Lamanna, Olga Newcomer; brother, Lloyd Kazanowsky. Surviving are son, Joseph Sonalia; grandchildren, Jeffery (Elizabeth), and Rebecca; 3 great-grandchildren, Calvin, Charles, and Camille; sister, Lillian Walters; brother, John Scmishko. Visitation is from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing.

Funeral Liturgy is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 2, at St. Therese Parish, 102 W. Randolph St, 1 Lansing, with Fr. Michael Williams presiding.

After his discharge the Army, he continued his education, graduating from Ferris State College. He was employed by the State of Michigan for 34 years, retiring from Maxey Boys Training School in Whitmore Lake in 1984. Cremation arrangements were made through Lynch Sons Funeral Directors in Brighton. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. Contributions may be sent to Box 37, Alma, Michigan, 48801. Judy A. Blankenship February 2, 1945 December 28, 2009 Judy A. Blankenship passed away on Monday, December 28, 2009 at age 64. Judy was born and raised in Bath, where much of her family still remains.

Judy was preceded in death by her father Clare Vail and sister Betty Stull. Surviving are her husband, John; children, Brenden, Jennifer and Rayshelle (Rich) Darr; grandchildren, Jon, Brad, Justine, Jessica, Cole and Reilly; her mother, Josephine Vail; and siblings, Claude (Shirley) Vail, Leonard Stull, Joyce (Glenn) Svendsen, Nancy Miller, Hewitt (Barbara) Vail and Martha (Dan) Sherman. Judy Loved summers at the cottage and taking care of her flowers. Mostly, she spent her time taking care of everyone she cared about. Those who have been touched by Judy, will miss her deeply.

Wilson Holt Passed away Sunday, December 27, 2009 at age 62. Born July 17, 1947 in Ladysmith, Wisconsin to Ronald and Shirley (Howard) Wilson. Gregory retired from the D.N.R. in 1993. The joys of his life were his family and flying his hot air balloon.

Preceding him in death were his father-in-law, Jerry Surateaux, and niece, Kellie Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Surateaux) Wilson; son, Chad (Liz) Wilson; daughter, Stephanie Wilson; brothers, Jeffrey (Barb) Wilson, Leslie (Denise) Wilson, Richard (Chris) Wilson; parents, Ronald and Shirley of Gladstone, MI; mother- Helen Surateaux; sister-in-law, Susan Surateaux; as well as several nieces, nephews and greatnieces and nephews. Walter was a longtime resident and WWII veteran of the 8th Air Force. He is survived by his children: Gregg (Cindy) Mayes, Roz (Chuck) Loveless and Brenda Kloos (Patrick Mitchell); many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was one of thirteen children six of which have preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Winifred. The funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Estes-Leadley Chapel.
