Surviving are his daughters, Terri (Geoff) Weller and Cinnamon (Kenneth) Prudden; grandchildren, Colleen, Patrick, Abbigail, Bryce, and Jordan; sister, Barbara (Richard) Marier; brother, Norman (Ann) Simpson; along with many nieces, nephews and other extended family members. Cecil was preceded in death by his brothers, Raymond and Dale. Funeral services will be held at the Estes-Leadley Greater Lansing Chapel on Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Deepdale Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday for one hour prior to the service.

Traverse City Robert Neil Rosso 86, passed away December 15, 2008. Robert was the son of the late Robert Neil and Edna (Butts) Rosso, born on September 8, 1922. Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara Rosso; two daughters, Carol (James) Goetz and Patricia (Dr. Richard) Thirlby; one son, Robert Stephen (Arla) Rosso; grandchildren, Amy Goetz (Justin) Rzepka, Laura Grace Goetz, Marjorie Thirlby, David Thirlby, Thomas Rosso, Paul Rosso and Jayne Rosso; stepbrother, Harold Throop; and many other loving family members and friends. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m.

on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Presbyterian Church in Traverse City, with visitation one hour prior to the service. The family is being served by the Reynolds-Jonkhoff Funeral Home; www.reynolds-jonkhoff.com Helen Louise Hobach Helen Louise Hobach born April 26, 1914 in Peninsula, Ohio to Mabel Rhodes and John Jolly passed away in her sleep in Grand Rapids, Michigan on May 6, 2009. Louise was blessed in love three times during her life finding her heart with Lincoln Hedeman, Robert D'Amelio and George Hobach. She is survived by her children, Lynn and Diane Hedeman, Larry Hedeman, Lucy and Dick Hersey, Aggie and Dick Collagen, Bob and Diane D'Amelio (all of Michigan), Marcia Mackey of Ohio and Nita Veber of Florida as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Louise made her home in East Lansing, MI from 1945 until 2008.

She was a member of the Royal Order of Eastern Stars and influenced many as a student advisor at Michigan State University as well as volunteering her time and energy to many organizations throughout her life. Known to some as Kwepie and to others as Grandma Weezie, Louise touched countless lives in her 95 years. She had a zest for life that inspired her family and friends to match her cheerful attitude and find happiness in all they do. Her spirit, generosity and support will be greatly missed. Thelen Lansing Claude L. Thelen, formerly of Fowler, left this earth on Wednesday, May 13, 2009. Claude was born October 27, 1930 in Fowler, MI, moved to Lansing and was the owner of the The Tractorhaus for many years. He was proud in the fact that he graduated from Michigan State University during his later years. Life was important to Claude so that his concern for the oppressed was the total focus of his lifetime; the prisoners, the homeless, the hungry, the leper patients, and the lonely were reason that Jesus was concerned with his earthly three-year ministry.

The journey of the cross that Jesus traveled is the that Claude believed he should follow. The Gospel of Matthew is the road map to eternal life. The attributes of Jesus were mercy, love, kindness, patience and forgiveness. His teachings were the spiritual motivators that motivated Claude. Claude spent countless hours helping with Volunteers of America and Cristo Rey Community Center.

He was a devoted member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, serving as eucharistic minister, teaching religious education and making countless for the Rosary Makers. Claude also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Moose Lodge where he loved to dance. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Marvin and Clem. Claude is survived by his wife, Bonnie; children, Neil, Keith, Mary Beth, Lois, Lynn and Nancy; brother, Jerome; and sisters, Lucille Fox and Leona Kletner. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 12:00 noon, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church with the Rev.

Fr. John Byers as celebrant. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services at the church. Mason Thursday. Services 11 a.m. Denison, Steven Mark, Barbara Ann Hansen DeWitt Age 73, passed away Friday, May 15, 2009. Barbara was born in Lansing on May 27, 1935, the daughter of the late William and Marie Catherine (Doyle) Byrnes. She had many hobbies, but her true passion was her children and grandchildren, whom she adored.

Barbara was preceded in death by her siblings, Dorothy, Robert and Richard. Surviving are her children, John (Mary) Hansen, Michael (joanie) Hansen and Karen (Todd) Pennell; grandchildren, Teresa, Christine, Katherine, John, Danielle, Adam, Sean, Brooke and Blake; brothers, Frank and Ron (Gloria) Byrnes; sister, Betty (Fred) Tepsano; from beginning to end, Barbara's special friend and angel, Sally Wilkins; and special friends, Faith Jones and Mary Sontich. The Funeral Liturgy will be held Monday, 1:00 p.m., at Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel with the Rev. Fr. Dwight Ezop officiating.

Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the Funeral Home. For those wishing, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

He moved to Lansing in 1952, seeking a better life for his family. Lamond worked full time at Atlas Drop Forge and part time at MSU Kellogg Center for over 30 years. He loved cars and he loved to make people laugh. He was preceded in death by: his wives, Deloris Risper and Beulah M.

Risper; sons, Napoleon Kates, Jr. and Jody C. Risper; parents, Edward and Lucy Risper; brothers, Cleveland, Leon, Trent, and Frank Risper; and sisters, Easter Risper and Eiter Adway. Survivors include: his children, McArthur (Sumruay) Adams, Thelma (Willie) Bibbs, Lamond Risper, Robert L. Risper, Frank (Rina) Risper, Velma Raye (Greg) Whitehead, Sonya (David) Kates-Nixon, Willie F.

Risper, and Essie M. Moore; grandchildren, Wasana Adams, Casey and Travis Greenlee, Marcus and Tiffany Whitehead, Gianni, Anissa "NiNi," and Amir Moses Risper, Sophia, Dominic and Sierra Kates; sister, Clara Stokes; brother-in-law Floyd (Peggy) Stokes; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends, including old family friends, the Davis family. Beverly Elizabeth Besonen De Witt November 30, 1926 in Kingsley, Michigan. Beverly enjoyed gardening, her flowers, and loved telling stories about growing up on the farm. She lived for her family and loved and cared deeply for her grandchildren. Beverly will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Xena (Wilson) Cunningham and brother, Elton Cunningham.

Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Bernard; daughter, Marla (Mark) Swanson of DeWitt; 3 grandchildren, Janell, Jacob and Jordyn Swanson. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 19, at Noon at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt with the Rev. Dwight Ezop, Pastor of the Community of St. Jude, officiating.

She passed away Friday, May 15, 2009 at the age of 89, after a brief battle with cancer and a stroke. She grew up on a farm in Burr Oak, MI, met her husband of 69 years, Winston, in Bronson, MI where they lived together for many years. In 1956, they moved to Mason. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She loved sports, nature, animals, music, travel, and most of all people.

One of her favorite pastimes was to feed the many animals and birds that seemed to follow them to their homes in Michigan and Florida. She contributed to many organizations and volunteered as a gray lady at Mason General Hospital. She and Winston have active members of the First United Methodist Church Mason as MYF leaders and devoted parishioners. cheer Surviving are her loving husband, Winston C. Dancer: sons, Douglas (Luanne), Dennis (Kira); daughter, Sue (Dick) Breedveld, all of Mason; nine (9) grandchildren, eighteen (18) great-grandchildren; brother, James Hoopingarner (Ingrid) of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard Hoopingarner. A memorial service, celebration of her life, will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Mason, 201 E. Ash Street, Mason, with the Reverend Dr. Robert Hundley officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 20, 2009, from 4-6 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Ball Dunn chapel, 621 S. Jefferson, Mason, and 1 hour prior to church service.
