Grace retired in June as commander of the First District traffic services unit He has an associate's degree from Lansing Community College and is a graduate of the FBI Academy. He served in the Marines from 1961 to 1965 and Joined the Michigan State Police the following year. After cprvine at the Grand Haven.

LANSING Water mains to be flushed this week The Board of Water and Light will flush water mains in the northeast section of the city beginning at 8 a.m. Monday. The flushing also will begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday and continue until any cloudiness has cleared, said Max Beagle, board spokesman.

The annual flushing will clear the lines of any sediment buildup, he said. The area is bounded by Grand River Avenue High Street, Lake Lansing Road and Bancroft Park. Show on missing woman brought in $962 A recent TV show about the disappearance of Paige Renkoski brought in $962.50 for the local Crimestoppers program, according to Channel 47 general manager Pete Bannister. Bannister said the money came from advertising revenue for the Oct 6 episode of "MissingReward," a syndicated show. Renkoski, 30, was last seen on May 24 near her car, which was parked on the shoulder of westbound Interstate 96 near Fowlerville.

The car was later found, its engine running, at that spot Renkoski's shoes and purse were found inside. Her mother said that after the Oct 6 show, there were a few phone calls about the case, but no new leads. Bannister said his station has had close ties with Crimestoppers, helping to produce the local television segments, but this is the first time his station has donated advertising revenue. Free keychains available at Sparrow The valet parking service at Sparrow Hospital, Lansing, is marking its first anniversary by giving away key chains throughout October. More than 11,000 cars have been parked since the service began.

Valets are students from Michigan State University and Lansing Community College. The free service is available from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. PORTLAND Millage backer will try again The Portland Citizens Millage Committee will meet to discuss a new millage campaign at 7:30 p.m.

Monday at 250 Kent St School district voters defeated a 5.7-mill proposal last week. Because of the defeat bus service will end this week. Sports and extracurricular activities will end after the Oct 26 football game at Maple Valley. The school board has set Dec 7 for new election. The amount of millage has not been determined.

ALMA Reading program needs volunteers The Gratiot County Reading program needs volunteers to help teach adults to read. The program, aided by a $900 grant from the Michigan Department of Education, will hold a volunteer training workshop Nov. 10 and Nov. 11. "Volunteers are matched with an individual student and will meet with them once or twice a week," said 'Kathy Johnston, an adult education teacher with Alma "schools and a reading program volunteer.

BEURMANN, SPAULDING Lansing Age 62, passed away October 18, 1930. He was born April 24, 1928 in Lansing and has been a life long resident. He was a. member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church; graduated from East Lansing High School; and attended Michigan State University and Olivet College.

FRONCZAK, COL. EDWARD L. Tampa, FL Age 61, died October 16, 1990 in Tampa, FL. He was a graduate of Eastern High School and Michigan State University; retired from the U.S. Army after 30 years of distinguished service.

He is survived by his mother, Bernice Fronczak of Lansing; 4 sons, Edward of Albuquerque, Donald of Lansing, Steven of Tampa, FL and David of Mt. Laurel, NJ; 1 daughter, Nancy of Columbia, MD; and 1 granddaughter; 4 brothers. Peter of Blanchard, MI, Ted of Fairfax. VA, Henry and Richard, both of Boulder. CO; and 1 sister, Linda Brown (Mrs.

Born in Bel Oeil, Quebec on March 18, 1919, he moved to Winter Haven from Williamston in 1981. He was a Welder for Warner and Swasey in Lansing for 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Win-nifred A. Daignault a former Williamston School Teacher; sons, Roger Daignault of Windsor. CA; Andre Daignault of Pinckney and Marc Diagnault of Suquamish, WA; sister, Paula Dignard of Port McNlcoll, Ontario; and 4 grandchildren.

Delta United Presbyterian Church. 6100 W. Michigan Avenue with Rev. Alfred D. DAHLGREN, ERIC NELSON Dunedin, FL Age 29, passed away October 15, 1990 at Bay Medical Center in Panama City, FL.

He was a native of Lansing and graduated from Harry Hill High School in 1979. He was employed by the Department of Revenue for the State of Florida and had resided in the Tampa Bay area for the past 10 years. He was preceded in death by his father, Nels Dahlgren in Lansing in J986. He is survived by his mother, Mary Dahlgren; and his brother, Johnathon Meek, both of Panama City, FL; several aunts and uncles. Eric is also survived by many friends who loved him very much and will al-warys hold his memory close to their hearts.

Visitation is Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Palmer-Bush Funeral Home, 520 E. Mt. Hope Ave. in Lansing.

Mrs. Blackburn had lived a good deal of her life in Ovid, going to the Ovid Schools and High School. She was a member of-the Ovid United Church and a life member of. O.E.S. 279, Ovid and the Ovid Laugh-A-Lot Club.

On December 12, 1920 she was married and in 1955 moved to Lansing. Surviving is her husband of 65 years, James sons, Gerald of Dimondale, Bernard (Ethel) of Okemos; grandchildren.
