Charles was born in Lansing; was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, having served in the Third Raider Battalion, 6th Division, during World War II; and had been employed at Fisher Body Division of General Motors, retiring in 1979 after 3 1 years of service. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Anna N. (Henry) 1 daughter, Joann (Gerald) Taylor of Charlotte; 3 sons, Charles G.

(Linda) Grimwood, and Mark A. Grimwood, both of Charlotte, and Phillip W. (Vee) Grimwood of Sunfield; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Max (Irene) of Carson City; and 1 sister, Juanita (Harlan) Smal-ley of Camria, WI. Frances was born on January 31, 1908, in Coral and had been a resident of the Lansing area for over 50 years, coming here from Grand "Rapids. She attended Willow Community Wesleyan Church and was a Waitress for many years in both Grand Rapids and Lansing, retiring from Big Boy after 16 years. She is survived by her sister, Iola Lake of Lansing. She was preceded in death by her sister, Amy Wright in 1997. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m.

Mrs. Montgomery taught in the Lansing area for many years and is still ond- S' 1 remembered by many of her stu-ents. She was a long-time member of the Valley Farms Baptist Church where she counted it a privilege and blessing to lovingly serve the Lord and others in many capacities.

Mrs. Montgomery had a deep and abiding love for her family, daughter and son-in-law, William and Alna Purves; 6 grandchildren, Paul and Brenda Weinner, Bryan and Janette Purves, Bradley and Holly Purves; 5 great grandchildren, Karl, Rebekah, Victoria, and McKenna; 3 sisters, Mrs. Rose (Harold) Crouse, Mrs. Camille Amann, Mrs. Wilma Car-rell; 2 sisters-in-law, Mrs.

Lansing Age 27, died September 27, 1998. Born July 26, 1971, in Lansing, and a lifelong resident, Nicholas was employed for 5 years as an RN in the Emergency Room of Ingham Regional Medical Center. He received his B.A. in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University in 1997 and was presently enrolled in an MBA Program in Social Work at Michigan State University. He received his RN Degree from Kellogg Community College this past spring.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Gulf War. A loving son brother, grandson and uncle, surviving are his parents, Jeff and Teresa Welcher of Lansing; sister, Laura Welcher of DeWitt; niece, Alyssa Childs; maternal grandparents, Peter and Irma Kostrzewski of Lansing; paternal grandfather, Floyd (Janet) Welcher of Flushing; paternal grandmother, June Welcher of Lansing; many aunts, uncles and cousins. "LARRY" Holt Age 76, passed away Sunday, September 27, 1998, at home. Born to Swedish immigrant parents of Tus-tin, MI, in 1922, Laurence Hammar was raised in a Christian home and, in 1947, married his "Rose of Ruth of Sharon, IA. He was employed for 33 years by Plywood Sales Company of Lansing. Laurence, a Fimsh Carpenter, designed and built countless cabinets, desks, dressers, tables, shelves, doll beds, frames, decks, and garages, and contracted numerous remodeling projects. He had been a member of Holt Baptist Church since 1954 where he served faithfully as Church Treasurer, Sunday School Teacher, Junior Church Leader, and Deacon.

Laurence was a godly example of meekness, gentleness and the traits of his Saviour whom he earnestly served. Laurence is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ruth, and their four children, Tom (Bethany) Hammar of Tampa, FL, Margie Ball of Denver, CO, Judy (Denny) Williams of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Betty Hammar of Flushing; 2 grandchildren, Leina Jo and Lance Williams of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; brother, Gordon Hammar; 2 sisters, Helene Hammar and Gertrude Jonson; a host of lifelong friends; and his faithful Cocker Spaniel. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m.

Wednesday, September 30, 1998, at Holt Baptist Church, 2020 Dean, with interment in Maple Ridge Cemetery. JOSEPHSON, MORRIS R. Lansing Formerly of Ironwood, Ml Age 78, passed away September 26, 1998. Born October 9, 1919, in Iron-wood, Mr. Josephson was a Copper Mining Engineer for over 35 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Elizabeth "Betty" in December 1997, and son, Dennis in June 1997.

Surviving are his daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Bill Veirs; grandson, Tim Veirs. The family will receive friends from p.m. Tuesday in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw. His wishes were no services be held.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to Hospice of Lansing would be appreciated. KLANECKY, GEORGE Lansing Age 75, died Saturday, September 26, 1998. Born June 24, 1923, in Ord, NE, the son of Joseph and Anna Klan-ecky, Mr. Klanecky was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.

He was a retired Auto Painter with various dealerships in Lansing and was referred to by many as an "Artist with the Spray Gun." He was proud of having many show cars debut in New York in the 1950s and 60s along with local showings at the former Gladmer and Michigan Theaters. Mr. Klanecky enjoyed his dog, Jump, and his grandchildren during his retirement and took pride in his yard work. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Michael E. Surviving are his children, William (Jackie) of Grand Ledge, Judy Arntson-Howard of Owosso, Jeffrey (Teresa) of Grand Ledge, and G.

Michael (Janice) of Williamston; grandchildren, Scott A. Arnt-son of San Diego, Christian P. Arnt-son in the U.S. Navy, Joshua N. Arntson and Jeremy A.

Mr. Cleeves was a retired Printer, a part-time employee of Kroger in Holt, and was very active in the Lansing Historical Society.
