a EATON RAPIDS Group donates $400 to adult handicapped The Knights of Columbus chapter of Eaton Rapids has donated $400 to the adult handicapped program. The program, a United Way agency, provides social and recreational activities to the physically, develop-mentally, emotionally and learning disabled. The money will be used to send 29 residents from eight homes in Eaton Rapids on weekly social visits to Charlotte. ELSIE School to conduct AIDS Awareness class Afternoon classes in the Ovid-Elsie schools will be dismissed early Friday so that employees can attend an "AIDS Awareness" workshop from 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

OKEMOS Plant growers honor Okemos couple An Okemos couple has been honored with a living tribute fund by the greenhouse industry.

The Professional Plant Growers Association has established the fund to honor Will and Barbara Carlson for their work in founding the association, a non-profit trade organization of more than 3,700 growers, wholesalers and retailers throughout the United States and Canada and 29 foreign countries. Will Carlson is executive vice-president of the association and a horticulture professor at Michigan State University. Barbara Carlson is the association's office manager and was its first employee eight years ago. Since it was founded, the association has contributed $128,000 for research in greehouse production practices. There is a surplus of books for the classes of 1964, 1968, 1972-75, 1977, 1978, 1980 and 1983-87. Graduates can purchase the books for $15. And there's a shortage of books for the classes of 1966, 1967, 1969, 1976 and 1979. The Iliad staff is seeking donations of those editions for its files. Lansing Age 81, passed away October 26, 1988. Born in Marquette, on December 19, 1906, Mr. Clark lived in Lansing for most of his life. (Sally) Porter of Fort Collins, CO, Mrs. Maxwell (Sueann) Creaser of Grand Ledge, and Jane Clark of Lansing; 2 brothers, Ira of Florence, AL and Waiter of Wickenburg, AZ; 6 grandchildren, Kevin, Diane and Ruth Ann Porter, Janet (Porter) Hamilton, David Clark and Karen Creaser; 1 great grand held at St. Joseph Cath olic Cemetery. Mrs. LUDDEN, ETHEL Independence, MO Age 91, died October 23, 1988 in Independence.

Born October 17, 1897 in Pellston, Ml, she lived in Lansing for 35 years moving to Independence in 1952. Survivors include daughters, Doris Illig of Kansas, Mrs. Edward Allen (Kathleen) Wheeler of Lansing, sary will be prayed Thursday, 8 p.m. In ADAMS, LINDA M. Lake City Formerly of Lansing Age 47, died October 25, 1988.
