Thomas Maurice Farrell Thomas Maurice Farrell, 86, born in Detroit, Michigan, January 15, 1928, passed peacefully into eternal rest in Lansing, MI, December 25, 2014. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Father, Grandfather, husband, and best friend. His journey in this world has ended, his pain is gone, and he now rests in the arms of Jesus. Tom worked hard to support his family, was an honest, generous and true friend; and most of all, he loved his wife and family. He will be deeply missed.

Tom was an avid tennis player, golfer, enjoyed history, politics, and photography. He and his wife Marilou also loved to travel and shared many trips abroad. In 1946 Tom began his career as a sports reporter for the Grand Rapids Herald. In the span of his nearly 50-year career he served as the public information officer for many state government agencies including the Michigan State Highway Department, the Michigan Commerce Department, and the Michigan Department of Education. He also worked for the Michigan Catholic Conference and as an administrative assistant to former U.S.

representative John C. Mackey. In 1985 he was hired by then- Chief Justice G. Mennen Williams to be the Public Information Officer for the Michigan Supreme Court, where he worked until his retirement in 1993. Tom was a member of the Michigan Historical Commission, was president the Michigan Press Association, a member of the Michigan Association, and a lifetime board member for Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp.

Thomas is survived by his eight children, Richard, Grand Ledge, MI; Thomas, Michael (Carol), Mark, Susan (Douglas) Lenon, Lansing, MI; James (Jane Greenway) Okemos, MI; Mary (Robert) Moffett, Pierson, FL; and Nancy, Weslaco, TX; his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; sisters Joanne Chapin, IL; Mary Cagney, OH; and Lois, Lansing. He was predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Marilou, their son Patrick, daughter- in-law Gail, daughter Catherine, and granddaughter Sara Rivera. The family wishes to invite those whose lives were touched by Tom to join them in celebration of his life Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Gerard Catholic Church, Lansing, MI.

Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing, MI. Visitation is Tuesday, December 30, from p.m. and p.m., with Vigil Service at 7 p.m. in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W.

Leonard Clark Wilson Lansing Leonard Clark Wilson, 83, of Lansing, Michigan passed away suddenly Tuesday He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great grandfather. After graduating from Eastern High School in Lansing, he joined an Oldsmobile apprenticeship, worked for 38 years in the experimental machine shop, and also served as a sergeant in the Michigan National Guard. After retiring, Len used his talents to help people through the food bank and his church. He had an active lifelong interest in athletics, gardening, and travel, and was proud to have reached his 50th state a few years ago. Len loved telling jokes and had a great sense of humor to which any of his friends could attest.

Although we will miss him, he will always be in our hearts and thoughts. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Julia Wilson; parents Ward and Thelma Swarthout; brother, Paul Wilson; and step son, Kim Dubois. He is survived by his half-brother, Ward Dean Swarthout; daughters, Denise (Hank) Logan, Arlyn (Stuart) King; and step sons, Steve and Dennis (Bonnie) Purdue. Janikowski Lansing February 5, 1915 December 22, 2014 Lawrence F. Janikowski, 99, of Lansing, Mich. and formerly of Winona and Caledonia, died Monday, December 22, 2014, at his home. Lawrence attended Cotter High School in Winona, spent 4 years in the Civilian Conservation Corps, and served his country in the Navy as a 1st class Aviation Machinist during WWII. He received a degree from Winona State University and worked as an Industrial Arts teacher in Caledonia for 24 years.

He enjoyed baseball his whole life having established the passion from his childhood home which was on the foul line of left field. He spent time figure-skating, fishing, golfing, bowling, woodworking, and gardening. He continued his woodworking throughout his retirement years and donated items to benefit charities. Lawrence was a man of great faith and valued his family and friends. He was known for his sense of humor, positive attitude and gratefulness for every kindness shown to him.

Lawrence was a member of the Winona Athletic Club since 1936 and was their oldest member. He was a member the Knights of Columbus and served as Financial Secretary for years. He was a year member of the American Legion Post 191 and served as Local and County Commander. He was also a member of the VFW 701 and the Polish National Alliance. He is survived by his children, Theresa Voss of Florham Park, New Jersey; John (Valerie) Janikowski of Lanai, Hawaii; Mary Janikowski of Needles, California; Sheila (William) ohnson of Lansing, Michigan; and Larry (Carla) Janikowski of Columbus, Indiana; grandchildren Danielle Voss, Nicholas Voss, James Locke, Timothy Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Michelle Johnson, Courtnie Janikowski, Michael Janikowski and acob Janikowski; great-grandson Ethan Johnson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanore Janikowski, his sisters and brothers, and his grandson John P. Locke. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Delta Retirement Center and Hospice Advantage. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, anuary 3, 2015, at St. Catholic Church, Caledonia.

Father Matt Fasnacht will officiate and burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Caledonia. Phoebe (Butler- Woodworth) Clouse Charlotte Phoebe (Butler-Woodworth) Clouse, 93, of Charlotte, MI, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Eaton County Medical Facility.

Phoebe was born on December 1, 1921 in Vermontville, MI, the daughter of James and Ethel (Chapman) Butler. She retired from Michigan State University after 15 years working in the laundry and housekeeping. Phoebe loved dancing throughout her entire life, especially at the Alpine Bar in Charlotte. Above all, she treasured her family. Phoebe is survived by her son, James (Joanne) Woodworth of Eaton Rapids; daughter, Carol (Steve) Brooks of Ceresco, MI; son, Gerald (Jeri) Corder of Mesick, MI; step-son, Robert Clouse; step-daughters, Susan (Dennis) Lea and Linda (Norm) Clark; 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; brother, Carl French; sisters, Geneva Butler and Lola Magoon; and sister-in-law, Sharon French.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, George French; son, Robert Woodworth; first husband, Floyd Woodworth in 1951; and her second husband, Clarence Clouse in 2004. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte, MI with Pastor Brenda Maurer officiating. Visitation will be from p.m. on Monday, December 29, 2014 at the funeral home just prior to the service.

She was born on June 17, 1922 in Lansing, Michigan to Frank and Pauline (Caruso) DeRose. She owned and operated Cam- Sports Bar in Owosso, and later worked at Owosso Memorial Hospital. She loved gardening, baking, crocheting, and reading. Mary had a beautiful smile, laugh and held a strong faith. She is survived by daughter Frances Campione; son John (Linda) Campione; grandson Brett Campione; brother Paul (Ann) DeRose; and sister Virginia Cascarilla.

Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at St. Casimir Catholic Parish, 815 Sparrow Ave. Lansing, MI 48910, Fr. Bill Lugger presiding with a visitation one hour prior. She was born on August 2, 1926 in Robstown, TX. Maria married Reynaldo Trevino in 1947 in Nuevo Laredo, Tamps, MX. They were happily married for 59 years. Maria was preceded in death by her husband Reynaldo Trevino, and two sons Geronimo (Jerry) Trevino, and Reynaldo Trevino Jr. Maria is survived by her children Laty (Fred) Walker, Sylvia Trevino and Alfredo Martinez.

Also, extended family Linda Flores and grandchildren, Elisa Quintero, Lena (Michael) Bailey Angelica (Paul) Gamez, Alejandro Trevino, Alexis Trevino, Latasha Briggs, and Freddie Walker. Maria also was blessed with 10 great grandchildren. Maria will always be remembered as a loving wife, wonderful mother, superb cook and homemaker and for her dedication to her faith. She loved her home church Cristo Rey as one of the first founding families. We will always remember how she loved to dance and she will be deeply missed.

Special mention to Elizabeth Quintero for her support, to all of my family for their support here and in Texas, to Ingham County Medical Care Facility for their excellent and loving care and to all those that visited her and made an effort to make her last memories back home in Lansing special. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, December 30, at 1:00 pm, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, 2-4 6-8 pm at Palmer, Bush Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel, where the Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 pm.

Age 72, our loving husband, father, grandfather was called home to his Lord on December 24, 2014. Born August 4, 1942 in Pueblo, Colorado. Melvin began his career as a banker at American Bank Trust, and he later joined General Motors dealerships as a department manager for many years.

He was a member, deacon, and member of the building and grounds committee of Valley Farms Baptist Church. He was a member of the Civitan Service Club, where he had served as club president and district governor. He was a member of the University Club. Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Rhoda L. Humphrey; son, Gregory (Heather) Humphrey; one grandchild; 2 stepchildren, Brian Kzeski, and Cindy (Steven) Smith; 5 step grandchildren and 4 step great-grandchildren.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin H. Sr. and Maryanne Humphrey. Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Tuesday with the Memorial Service 11:00 A.M.
