He worked for General Motors as a skilled tradesman for 30 years.

He was a tremendous friend, father, motorcyclist and boater. He could be seen on many summer days dragging a child behind his pontoon, his laughter echoing across the water. Matt was born in Holt, Michigan, January 13, 1924. He was raised on the farm and learned hard work was met with reward. He joined the Army in 1943 and served actively at D- Day, Battle of the Bulge and received two Bronze Stars.

He was honorably discharged in February of 1946. Matt was a loving husband to his wife, Joanna, a loyal friend and brother to Charles Rens, and a proud father from a previous marriage to son Owen, daughters Nancy, (Tom), Patti (Bob) and Joy (Don). He was the fun grandfather to Cory, Christina, Chad, Collin, Connor, Cassie and great-grandson Miles. He will also be dearly missed by several nieces and nephews. Matt was always quick with his wit and a smile.

Arrangements are by the Estes-Leadley Chapel. Matthew Rens, Jr. Holt Diane Beehler Age 66 Eaton Rapids, MI Resident Passed away on Tuesday August 22nd, 2017 Born on June 26th, 1951 Canton, Ohio. Having fun and living on the edge was when she was happiest on earth. Diane loved arts and crafts, she would spend hours creating lovely cards for every occasion.

Diane would give the last dollar she had to make someone else happy. The neighborhood children were always stopping by her house asking for some candy. Diane was an extremely strong women. The past 5 years have been hard on her, but all she could think about was inconveniencing someone else. She was asked what her last wish would be and she said: God to watch out cause I am coming with all my Nana, Your spirit will live on in us.

Survived by daughters Shelli(Brent) Burdo Rebecca(Craig) Donaldson; grandchildren: Anthony Wallace, Austin Dimick, Brigitte Burdo, Amalia Burdo, Anthony Burdo. Great Grandchildren: Jayson, Bryson, Bentley, Riley, Madison and Braxton. Brothers Skip (Linda) Beehler Steve (Dianna) Beehler companion Misty (Cat) of 11 years. Predeceased by Mom and Dad, William Beehler and Bette Beehler. Service Friday August 25 from 1-2 pm with visitation one hour before.
